Croissant delivery with a twist
Stöckli employees were a bit flabbergasted Tuesday morning: Alpine ski racer Marco Odermatt surprised everybody with a visit at Stöckli’s manufacturing facility and brought along croissants for all. The skier from Buochs took home this season a total of 9 podium finishes, of which 3 were overall wins. And he wanted to say thanks to his ski supplier.

The visit was definitely a big surprise. With the excuse of a quick informational meeting, all the Stöckli employees gathered in a former production space. But it wasn’t any information that arrived, but rather Odermatt – with croissants in hand. The surprise was a big one, and the happiness huge. The skier from Buochs and overall World Cup second-place finisher was greeted with a big round of applause.
“I’m here today because I want to say thank you. For nearly 13 years, I’ve had such awesome support from you all,” Marco Odermatt began his talk – to which Stöckli CEO Marc Gläser added: “We are all thrilled you are here, and we’d like to congratulate you on your super performance.”
TOP PERFORMANCE LEADS TO ACCOLADES
At the early morning visit, Odermatt also promptly announced his new lead sponsor: Red Bull. An accolade of every top athlete, illustrating once again how Odermatt has arrived in the Alpine Skiing World Cup and, in short order, established himself: Right at the front of the ranks, in fact.
Skiing at the front of the ranks? That’s how it is to stay – something the employees at Stöckli will give their all to realize. Production of the new World Cup ski as well as preparations for the coming season are already in full swing. This friendly visit of course provided additional motivation to ensure “Odi” also has properly fast skis next year, too.
