Twice on the podium in 24 hours for Alex Fiva
The racing weekend for Stöckli athletes was extremely successful, particularly thanks to the wins in Idre Fjall (SWE) by our ski cross athlete Alex Fiva
The ski cross specialists met this weekend in Sweden (Idre Fjall). Our Stöckli athletes showed a particularly strong team performance. On Saturday, our own Alex Fiva from Switzerland nailed a win! With that, he celebrates the 11th World Cup win of his career. His countryman Armin Niederer took fifth. Among the women, two Stöckli racers were in the finals. The young Canadian India Sherret (21) provided the surprise of the day and celebrated her first time on the podium (3rd). Fanny Smith also showed a solid performance but unfortunately took a fall in her battle for the victory (4th in final rankings).
In the second race on Sunday, Fiva just barely missed out on a “double.” In the finals, Alex had to admit defeat to the Frenchman Jean-Frédéric Chapuis. Among the women, Fanny Smith stood in second place and thus defended her 3rd place in the overall World Cup rankings.
