Praiseworthy results for Stöckli in Asia
This past weekend marked a new chapter in the careers of the ladies on our World Cup alpine ski team as they skied for the first time on Asian territory. In Jeongseon (KOR) the Slovenian, Ilka Stuhec, landed on the podium twice.
With a view towards the Olympic Winter Games in 2018, the ladies participated for the first time in a race on Asian snow, namely in the Korean location of Jeongseon. Saturday's program was dominated by the downhill race, followed by the Super G on Sunday. The snow appeared to absolutely favor Stöckli athletes who achieved three Top 10 placements in the Downhill and the Super G. But it was mainly our current downhill world champion, Ilka Stuhec, who again underlined her strong condition by landing podium spots in both the Downhill and the Super G races.
Following her 12th rank in the World Championships, the young Swiss skier, Jasmine Flury, continued to show her talent by coming in 7th in the Downhill and 5th in the Super G.
Further Top 10 placements went to Stacey Cook in the Downhill and Viktoria Rebensburg in the Super G.
