3 victories and 2 crystal globes: A historical weekend for Stöckli

There was a lot going on during the past days at Stöckli. It all began on Friday as Bostjan Kline won the Kvitfjell downhill – his first World Cup victory. For Stöckli it was the 3rd men's downhill victory in company history. Historical! Lady luck continued on Saturday and Sunday as Bostjan repeated his good performance and came in 7th in the second downhill on Saturday, and 8th in the Super G on Sunday. But the big surprise was delivered by his fellow countryman, Martin Carter, who landed sixth place in the Super G!

These fabulous results did not stop with the men but were continued by the women's team. Ilka Stuhec again managed to impress all and prove her current top condition. There were three races in Crans Montana this past weekend and Ilka landed on the podium in all three of them!  On Friday she came in 2nd in the Super Combination and on Saturday she won her 6th World Cup race of the season in the Super G. On Sunday she ended the weekend on a perfect note by not only coming in 3rd in the second Alpine Combination but also by winning the crystal globe in that same discipline. Only a couple of days earlier she had become the World Champion in Downhill in St. Moritz and now Ilka also won the first small crystal globe in her career. What a fantastic weekend! And what an athlete! And best of all she has good chances when it comes to securing the crystal globe in Downhill as well as the Super G. We're keeping our fingers crossed for you, Ilka!

Next to Ilka Stuhec another Stöckli athlete brought in good results. A hearty applause goes to Marusa Ferk who landed the excellent 5th place in the Alpine Combination on Friday.

For Stöckli the weekend was also historical in ski cross racing. The queen of the discipline, the Canadian Marielle Thompson, won for the 6th time in Sunny Valley (Russia) and has definitely secured the ski cross crystal globe – already the third one in her career. Bravo Marielle! Marte Oeie Gjefsen (NOR) came in 4th in this race and the Swiss team colleague, Fanny Smith, made it to the 13th place.

On the men's team Stöckli celebrated an additional podium spot thanks to Daniel Bohnacker who came in 3rd! Two additional Stöckli team members also landed among the Top 10:  Jonas Lenherr (7th place) and Armin Niederer (10th place).

See you next week!
